LAI's Metafind System improves the speed of locating quality metaphase spreads and scoring chromosome aberrations

Utilizing proprietary algorithms, Loats Associates' Metaphase Finding System automatically discriminates metaphase spreads from non-target cells under low power. The location as well as a "postage-stamp" image of each candidate spread is immediately displayed and archived.

Metafind automatically locates candidate metaphase spreads under high-powered objective. Easy-to-use data entry forms - including separate forms for the Chromosome Aberration Assay and the Sister Chromatid Exchange Assay - allow for rapid storage of information for each spread. A high resolution digital image of each scored metaphase spread is then recorded for later review.

As the researcher identifies the type of each aberration, the system automatically accumulates and stores types and number of aberrations per spread, slide and dose group. These results are tabulated so that statistics are available immediately upon completion of the spread scoring.

The system also records audit trail information to support submission to regulatory authorities. To make subsequent reviews simple, the complete set of located and scored spreads is archived in digital format.

With a Satellite station, you can score slides while continuing to scan the remaining slides of a study on the Metafind system. After scanning the first set of slides from a study, you can score those slides on a Satellite station, which can be one of several configurations:
