Loats Associates, Inc. (LAI) has produced the first multi-purpose high-resolution digital colony and plaque counter, LAI-HRCC.
Multi-assay support: The single system is capable of handling multiple assays, including: MLA 80 mm dish, Ames, Big-blue mouse, Muta-mouse and similar assays that depend on plaque or colony counting.
High-resolution colony counting and measurement: Digital images acquired at high resolution (5 MEGAPIXELS) allow capture of colonies of less than 50 microns. The utilization of digital imaging techniques provides "on-the-fly" background correction. Colony size measurements are provided for the mouse lymphoma assay.
